Sustain brings you Sueno, a mattress company dedicated to your sleep quality and comfort. Why should you be concerned about what you sleep on? Traditional mattresses are treated with a variety of chemicals, such as stain guard to keep the cover white and brominated fire retardants. They chemicals ‘off-gas’ into your living space for the duration of the mattresses life. We suggest a natural latex mattress, which provides all the comfort of a luxury memory foam mattress without all the chemicals. Natural latex is a natural material that is collected from rubber trees (much the same way we collect sap for maple syrup), a process that doesn’t hurt the tree and is completely sustainable. The mattress itself is composed of a six inch rubber core, which evenly distributes the weight of your body, so no pressure points are created; the option of a soft, plushy ‘topper’ is available as well to give your mattress the feel of memory foam. The mattresses are then encased in a very soft organic cotton damask, and quilted with natural wool, which is moisture wicking, anti-bacterial and acts a natural fire-retardant. These materials also allow your mattress to breathe. Further, the cover is completely removable, allowing you to wash it or renew your mattress by replacing it. The mattresses are made in Ontario, and come with a comprehensive 10 year warranty. Finally, when your mattress wears out (after many, many years), it is completely biodegradable, relieving the strain on our overloaded landfills.
